Elections
Every village page shows which Lok Sabha and assembly constituency it belongs to, where we can place it. Results come from the Election Commission of India and the Trivedi Centre for Political Data — every figure is cited.
Seats and villages by state
A Lok Sabha seat is made of assembly segments (the official relationship from the Election Commission). Villages are placed in constituencies separately, and not every village is placed yet.
No state or union territory matches that name.

How a village is placed in a constituency
4,65,388 of 6,77,666 active villages (68.7%) have an assembly constituency on their page. Each one says which method was used:
- LGD records — 2,21,370 villages. The Local Government Directory lists the village (by its LGD code) under the constituency, and independent evidence agrees: the village’s map point is within 2 km of the constituency boundary, or its mandal’s mapped villages fall in that constituency.
- Inside the boundary — 95,696 villages. The village’s own map point falls inside the constituency boundary. Boundaries are approximate (DataMeet / ECI maps).
- Estimated from the mandal — 1,48,322 villages. The village has no map point, so it gets the constituency most of its mandal’s mapped villages fall in. This is an estimate and is labelled as one.
The rest are not placed: their page says so rather than guessing. The electoral roll is the final word on any village.
Assembly results we hold
Where a state has voted since our latest data, its pages say so instead of naming a “current” MLA.
