About the founder

This is a short profile written by the VoiceOfVillage team. A personal note from the founder will replace it.
B. Sreekanth is the Founder & CEO of VoiceOfVillage Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the company that runs VoiceOfVillage. He started VoiceOfVillage in 2026 in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Where it started
B. Sreekanth grew up in Kothapalli, in Karimnagar district, Telangana. Like most Indian villages, it had almost no page of its own on the internet. Basic facts such as its population, its gram panchayat or its elected representatives were hard to find in one place, and news from the village rarely reached people who had moved away.
What VoiceOfVillage is building
- A page for every village, mandal, district and state, built from public records with their source shown.
- A free place for residents to share news, photos, jobs, local businesses and events, in their own language.
- Village verification that relies on documents or vouching by neighbours, never on a person's own claim.
- Open data that researchers and developers can reuse, through the open data API.
Free for villagers
Reading pages, claiming your village and posting are free for residents. See how it works and about VoiceOfVillage.
