Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

A bank loan with a government subsidy to set up a new small business or unit.

This is a guide, not a decision. Eligibility is decided by the department that runs each scheme.

Run by: Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (through KVIC, state KVIBs and District Industries Centres)

Official rule (in English, as published)

Any individual above 18 years of age. No income ceiling. At least VIII standard pass for projects costing above ₹10 lakh in the manufacturing sector and above ₹5 lakh in the business/service sector. Assistance only for new projects sanctioned specifically under PMEGP; projects without capital expenditure are not eligible. Maximum project cost ₹50 lakh (manufacturing). The subsidy is credit-linked: a bank must sanction the loan.

Ask the office or portal which documents it needs; we list documents only where the official site does.
