Tezpur

Tezpur is a mandal in Sonitpur district, Assam, containing 141 revenue villages organised under 20 gram panchayats. The 2011 Census recorded 179,719 residents with a literacy rate of 65.7% and a sex ratio of 930 females per 1,000 males. The mandal had 63,868 workers, comprising 11,574 cultivators and 2,609 agricultural labourers. The Jal Jeevan Mission reported that 66% of households were covered under the tap water scheme.
