Chungthang

Chungthang mandal is located in Mangan district, Sikkim, comprising 12 revenue villages and 5 gram panchayats. According to Census 2011, the mandal had a population of 10,522 across 2,029 households with a literacy rate of 73.7%. The sex ratio was notably low at 468, with 7,211 workers including 524 cultivators and 153 agricultural labourers. The mandal headquarters is at Chungthang, with other significant villages including Lachung and Lachen. As of the survey period, 88.5% of households had access to tap water through the Jal Jeevan Mission.
