Suri - I

Suri I is a mandal in Birbhum district, West Bengal, comprising 114 revenue villages and 7 gram panchayats. According to Census 2011, the mandal has a population of 96,141 across 22,194 households. The literacy rate stands at 62.4% with a sex ratio of 958, and the mandal includes 37,781 workers, of which 3,965 are cultivators and 7,051 are agricultural labourers. Only 39.9% of households have access to piped water under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. Notable villages include Banshjor, Kachujor, and Brojergram.
